"Do what you can do."
Bro. Julivier Loyao

Why are we always worried? Worry is something that we feel and bothered us and put us into a complicated and doubtful condition. The effect of worries to our own lives if we have it, is like that our life is in the state of negativism and always fearful to what should we do/to do. I tell you one of the greatest things about our Lord Jesus Christ is that he does not want his people to be worried. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…….Amen………... The main point of today's gospel is that God does not secure his kingship by cultivating worries. His kingship is far from our understanding that when we hear about this position it implies fear and authority. On the contrary, the aim of God's kingship is to free us from any worries. God doesn't need to build worry in us in order to establish his power and superiority. Instead, he exalts his power and superiority by working it to takes away our worries. If you are Christian and truly believers of Christ; if you have turned away from sin and are followed Jesus as Lord in the obedience of faith, God assures us upon this day not to worry about anything, but for us to enjoy in deep calmness, peace and security. Jesus spoke these words in Matt 6:24-34 precisely for us to overcome whatever it is, that make us worry on this day. We need to take this word from the Lord Jesus this day, because it reminds us that his kingship is not to build worry on his people. He ruled us King over us for the purpose, specifically, to take away our worries. In my own perception the chief statement from the Lord is not to be worried and have a great awareness to give us peace. This is enough reason why we don't need to be worry; his words were extremely powerful and full of assurance. So let us focus the rest of our time thinking at some of this reason in Matt 6:24-34 Everybody can see plainly that the main point of this gospel is that the disciple of Jesus should not be worried; in verse 25: "Do not be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive." Verse 31: "Do not be worried saying, 'What shall we eat.' Verse 34: "Do not be worried about tomorrow." The words should keep ringing in our ears when you leave this morning, that is. "Jesus does not want us to be worried." That is just the other way of stating the main point of this passage. Let us make in a positive way found in verse; 33, that is, instead of being worried "Seek first God's Kingdom." In other words do not think about your life needs for food, our clothes at that time, instead make God the king in that affair, and in that moment and surrender the situation to his kingly power and do his righteous will with the confidence that he will work for us and that we will meet all out our needs. To seek the Kingship of God first in every affair and every moment of our life is an exciting way of living. It's full of freedom and peace, joy and adventure and hardship; and it is worth living at all God said "do not worry". If we believe in the kingship of our heavenly Father, we do not need to be worry about anything. In addition, Jesus said to us in verse 26, "Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gathered a harvest and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren't you worth much more that birds?" In short, Jesus doesn't want us to be worry instead to do what we can do and what we fear to do. God want us to use our every strength to move on, and not to stop because of our worries. The gospel reading for this day challenges us to become more aware always for what is happening in our community, to our society's situation. This is what we need the most to take our attention if we felt about worries. Let us look at what happened to our country there are a lot of immoralities and impurities in our government, which shows there is something wrong to our leaders. These situations challenge our every self through this gospel. The worry that we should felt is not the worry in our own selves nor towards the others who need it most. For these people the most important thing is to gain for their own satisfaction. Yet their search to gain betrays them. It reveals their worries about tomorrow, about what to wear, what to buy, how to be successful, how to become rich and powerful. When we worry a lot we are prone of sinning. In their pitching race for more, they have closed their hearts. Believing, that only more possessions can satisfy their desire/thirst in power and position. In doing this they have dismissed God, who would fill their desire. Let us pray for them. Isn't it encouraging realizing that it was Jesus who said we should live for today and "stop worrying about tomorrow"? In short he was saying "Do what you/we can do". Why we always think of what our own needs or self needs? But this is not what our Lord's say's. Look at our brethren who were outcry for justice, suffered for the oppression because of the greediness of some people in power. These are the things the we must have to worry. Those things that happened to our country/society today is the things that we must be worried for because it destroys us, our future and to our future generation. Prayer, works and recreation have long been recognize as the three essential ingredients for our life. We're expected to neither overdo nor under do any of the three-but which ever we are doing at the time, it's should have of our full attention. What this message meant to us? Ayon pa nga sa kasabihan "Nasa Dios ang awa at nasa Tao ang gawa", kaya ang gusto nang Panginoon ay ito magdasal ka at gawin mo kong ano ang nararapat at sang-ayon sa gusto ng Panginoong Dios. Ano ba tong sinasabi na gusto nang Panginoong Dios sa atin sabi n'ya, wag kang mabahala sa yong bukas at "Gawin mo kung ano ang gusto mo." The main point of all this, is clear and definite: Jesus does not want his followers to worry. He does not secure his kingdom by keeping his creation in the state of worry. On the contrary, according to verse 33, the more primary, and the central on his kingship is in our lives, for us to have the less worry we will have. Jesus came, lived, died, and rose from the dead, in order that to reign as King over worry and free us from worries. Finally let come, follow and surrender to Jesus as our king. Forsake all other allegiances. Take your vow of loyalty to the King of kings. And seek God first in all you do to make known his kingship over our life. This and this alone is the way to liberate us from worries. Amen. Amen. Amen.. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
